Insulation Costs

If they don’t have all the facts, consumers are left to make an insulation choice based on installed price and perceived R-Value, relative to competing products. And while price is always a sensitive issue with consumers, they’ll pay more – they want to pay more – to get the benefits and long-term value they desire.

Selling cellulose insulation based on the installed price alone ignores major benefits only cellulose can provide. Selling cellulose insulation based on its cost, performance, energy savings over time, and its dramatically lower environmental impact, will help prevent the consumer from making a poor decision based on short-term benefits, while closing more sales for you, the builder or installer.

There are at least three ways to measure value – long-term cost, performance, and environmental impact. In all three cases, cellulose has the edge over the competition in most applications.

We have provided a simple calculator so homeowners can see the impact their choice of insulation can have on their utility bills. The calculator allows them to compare their installation costs with their expected annual savings to determine their return on investment.
