The home was a project of New Frameworks Natural Design/Build. According to their website, the company is a worker owned cooperative committed to a kinder sort of building. They specialize in ecologic building practices with homes that achieve true sustainability.
Their amazing Home & Barn gets 100% of its electricity by solar panels with a back up propane generator and storage batteries. According to Poptimes, the home includes locally sourced products with low embodied energy throughout its design including cellulose insulation.
